So, Animal print…Love it or loathe it, every season we see this trend creep in… And this season Its back Bolder than ever with Designers going full out with statement Leopard print coats, dresses and accessories..

But don’t worry you don’t have to pay Designer price tags, the high street have got this trend covered!

I think a lot of women are fearful of this trend as they associate leopard / animal print with Bette Lynch from behind the bar in the Rovers return..

I don’t know why? I thought she looked just -Darling in this get up! 🤷🏼‍♀️ what’s not to love…and the Beehive…well it’s just sets the look off 🙄😂

So back to this season..

I’ve been trawling the shops and online to find what I’m loving about this trend…

Forty Shmorty…Go Shawty it’s ye Birthday…🧛🏻‍♀️

So…As I type this, I’m 5 days still in my 30’s…

That’s 111 hours to get my shit together…is this attainable?..111 hours to fast track acting my age….God, I’m not ok with this.. ok let’s list some of my bad habits!

Since Gorge-boxsetting the Vampire Diaries (8 seasons) after a few Sauvy Blancs…(a few =5-6) I’ve been known to sink my teeth in to whoever is siting next to me to their bewilderment…& think it’s fun…

A: It’s not Fun

B: I’m not a vampire – I’m a mum of 3…

One night, after leaving a family meal in the wee Chinese restaurant we went to every Sunday growing up…After misbehaving with my Dad (which I love to do) which entailed flaming Sambucas, & pints of Mateus Rose…

Outside my sisters car came down the lane & my alter ego stunt man kicked in…I ran and threw myself on to the bonnet…in my head I sexily slid over it and landed on my feet…reality – I never cleared it and hit it with an unsexily “thud” All the while everyone staring at me like… OUR😐ANGELA!!!!!! Our Karen raging like…

“See if you’ve dented my bonnet”

The fear of opening your eyes in the morning & vaguely remembering biting folk acting like I’m a stunt man, as I lie in bed as if I’ve rigamortis with a Riddy…#godsake

As the “Riga” leaves I slothlike turn to face Lee who doesn’t drink, who’s wearing that – “would you like a blow by blow of your actions kinda look” me like…Am I “cute” when I act like that????? Please say yes to help this fear!

Why is turning 40 making me feel I need to drop this Angela & find a more conservative/refined Angela??? God! what would she be like? Does she have a bob? Is she a member of the P.T.A, does she buy sensible Geox shoe with a slight wedge that will help her mount a bonnet more effectively? (God that’s a bad habit I’m dropping, no more car bonnet mounting) Do I have to buy a stormproof jacket as it’s “practical” Aghhhhhhh this is killing me here…

Or does maybe turning 40 mean…

I accept who I am? And be comfortable with me…(maybe stop biting folk🧛🏻‍♀️, as I’m not a vampire) might need some hypnotherapy with that one…but Hey…I’ve 111 hours – Right?!

Well – I’m thinking…

What if the you, that is you, is enough and you don’t need a new you?

But maybe, just maybe you don’t see that, and unknowingly we’re bypassing the beauty in the little things that cost nothing…but are everything?

There is beauty in the smallest things…

Do you ever read words, quotes or hear sayings and they don’t resonate, until that one moment when, it’s like you’re reading it for the first time, hearing it for the first time & it makes sense…

It’s like listening to a song that you’ve heard your whole life, and then listen to it years later & the lyrics mean something completely different..

Sometimes you can get caught up in the whole, I’m not skinny enough, I’m not good enough, not organised enough, blah blah blah… I read a wee quote the other day, “comparison is the thief of joy” And yes, it so is. I can remember being about 9 & we used to get Mass on a Wednesday in the gym hall in Primary school, and the Priest said, 

“everyone has a gift – your gift is different to whoever is beside you, but you all have a gift” 

And it’s true! So instead of maybe unknowingly comparing ourselves to others should we, embrace what we’ve been given and who we are

Beauty starts from inside & loving ourselves so we can shine on the outside…

All we have is now ❤️…

The Riverside Show STV Glasgow….

Sooo…the old saying is true, secretly wish for something so much and it might just come true…
In May last year, I received a message from a friend who had said there’s a new Channel starting called STv Glasgow, and there’s going to be a show called…”The Riverside show” a Glasgow lifestyle TV show, and they were looking for stylists to add fashion stories as content….
WHAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was beyond excited….
Drove to STV studios, excited to even be driving into the car park! Haha…
I found myself in the studio that overlooked the Clyde, the Riverside Studio. It looked amazing like a proper wee apartment, a couch area a kitchen, and a part where live bands could play….
I was sitting on “the sofa” with the two producers just gabbing away finding out a bit more about the show, and them asking me a bit about myself.
I left feeling, I want this….but trying to tell myself if I’m not picked well it wasn’t for me….
On the way out in the revolving doors I saw the newsreader from the 6 o clock news – John Mackay….he was coming up the stairs towards the main doors and before I could think about it I was over at him…

“Oh..Hi John…my wee boy and girl think you’re amazing they watch you on the news every night!!!”
Oh Angela……Stoap it!!!
He was really nice, chatted for min, then he was away through the doors….
As I walked down the steps I was thinking! Whhhhhhy did you just do that?!!!
It made the kids day when I told them, so it was worth it!

Anyway long story short……I got the title resident Stylist….
And I’ll never forget sitting watching the show and hearing, and here we have Our very own riverside Stylist….Angela Corrigan.

I suppose what I’m trying to say is…never give up on your dreams…
